Sailfin Marble Molly Poecilia Sphenops 3cm Overview: The Sailfin Marble Molly is a captivating freshwater fish known for its striking coloration and distinctive sail-like dorsal fin. With its elegant appearance and peaceful demeanor, this species adds grace and charm to any aquarium. Origin: Originating from Central America, these Mollies are typically found in slow-moving freshwater habitats, favoring environments with ample vegetation. Feeding: Sailfin Marble Mollies are omnivores and thrive on a diet consisting of high-quality flake or pellet food. They also enjoy occasional treats of live or frozen foods like bloodworms and brine shrimp, enriching their diet and enhancing their colors. Tank Mates: Peaceful by nature, Sailfin Marble Mollies are excellent community fish and happily coexist with other peaceful species like tetras, guppies, and peaceful bottom dwellers like Corydoras catfish. Avoid pairing them with aggressive or fin-nipping tank mates. Aggression: Known for their peaceful temperament, Sailfin Marble Mollies are non-aggressive and make fantastic additions to community aquariums. However, males may occasionally display territorial behavior among themselves, but this is usually resolved without harm. Experience Level: Ideal for aquarists of varying experience levels, these Mollies are generally hardy and adaptable, making them suitable for both beginners and seasoned hobbyists. Water Parameters: Maintaining stable water conditions is crucial for the health of Sailfin Marble Mollies. Aim for a pH range between 7.0 and 8.0, with a water temperature around 72-78°F (22-26°C). They thrive in moderately hard water with good filtration and regular water changes to keep conditions pristine.
