Originating from Central America, this species boasts striking black hues accented by elongated, lyre-shaped tails that add a touch of elegance to any aquatic landscape.  Feeding on a diet of high-quality flakes or pellets supplemented with occasional treats like brine shrimp or bloodworms, these mollies thrive in a well-maintained tank with a mix of vegetation and open swimming spaces. They prefer slightly alkaline water with temperatures between 72-78°F (22-26°C) and a pH range of 7.0-8.0.  Their peaceful nature makes them excellent community tank members, cohabiting harmoniously with other non-aggressive fish such as tetras, guppies, and peaceful bottom dwellers like Corydoras catfish. However, it's advisable to avoid housing them with fin-nipping or aggressive species.  With a moderate care level, these mollies are suitable for aquarists with some prior experience in maintaining freshwater tanks. Their social disposition and striking appearance make them a favored choice among aquatic enthusiasts seeking a touch of beauty and tranquility in their aquarium setup.\"","brand":"SimsTF","offers":[{"title":"Default Title","offer_id":64946706219385,"sku":"STF-MOLLY-BLK-LYRETAIL","price":5.0,"currency_code":"GBP","in_stock":true}],"thumbnail_url":"\/\/cdn.shopify.com\/s\/files\/1\/1026\/3124\/4153\/files\/Black-Lyretail-Molly.png?v=1792492747","url":"https:\/\/birchwoodaquatics.myshopify.com\/products\/black-lyretail-molly-poecilia-sphenops-3cm","provider":"Birchwood Aquatic Centre","version":"1.0","type":"link"}
